I think that Amid Evil was an incredibly easy game when I played it on hard difficulty on my first playthrough. It is pretty much easier than any other long single player shooter game that I have played. However, as I really enjoyed the game I wanted to replay it but also really challenge myself.
Therefore, this playthrough is on the hardest /”evil/” difficulty, with warrior and auto soul modes enabled, without hud, crosshair or weapon model visible and without using quick saves. Because there is no option to permanently hide the weapon I have to use a cheat code AEHIDE to hide it each time a level is loaded. Warrior mode means that I lose all weapons after each level, so that I only have the axe at the beginning of each level. Auto soul mode will waste the soul powerup when it is available so that it cannot be saved for a better moment.
This is the sixth episode of the game and my 4th/5th favorite episode out of the 7 episodes in this game, as fun as the second episode. That is still not bad because I do enjoy playing through this episode. Overall the episode is quite chill and peaceful which I like but the atmosphere in some levels isn’t quite as nice. I would also say that the enemy design is quite interesting in this episode which is great.
I think the first level has the best atmosphere in this episode. This level also has this incredibly nice music making it my favorite level in the episode.
During this level I accidentally manage to activate a cheat code that displays enemy locations. The code I typed is AEDAR, kind of like /”radar/
