Amnesia The Bunker Full Game Walkthrough No Commentary
Frictional Games are amongst the most respected developers in the horror genre due to their classic game Amnesia. I still have to archive that game on the channel someday, but right now we are going to take a look at their newest title in the form of Amnesia The Bunker.
The previous Amnesia Rebirth did not impress me all that much, but I am glad to say that The Bunker is very awesome and goes deeper than you might initially think. Though the area that you explore is not that big or varied, there is quite a lot of variety in your approach to certain situations. There are many different ways to overcome obstacles and it really felt like I was playing it with my own playstyle and that someone else might have quite a different experience. The way you can open a jammed door for example already has multiple solutions. For example, you can find something heavy and throw it against it until it breaks. Or you can throw a grenade near it so that it explodes and opens that way. Or if you do not have a grenade you can look for an explosive barrel and move it near the door and shoot it to create an explosion. It was really cool to see this approach and hope to see more of this in future horror titles.
The setting of a WW1 bunker was also quite unique and cool and overal I just really dug the atmosphere. Probably my only critique is that the AI of the enemy can sometimes be a bit jank and I had it happened that I got pulled through a wall by the enemy, but other than that it left a menacing impression. Welcome back, Frictional Games….we missed you!
