Are you a Dragon City player that is desperate for more gems? Well, you’re in luck! Today I’ll be going through the 5 BEST way to get gems
free to play in Dragon City!
1. Limited-Time Events
Dragon City has tons of limited time events, and these events are a great place to pick up lots of bonus gems, sometimes hundreds of gems at once!
Runner events typically give 50 gems per event free to play, maze events have gemtopia chests in them that can give over 100 gems per chest, and maze also has other chests, such as raven chests on certain paths that can drop a nice chunk of gems, so they’re great events to take part in. Heroic races give 20 free gems for practically just opening the event. These events repeat very often, so you’ll be able to pick up hundreds of bonus gems over time just by playing these events!
2. Alliance Chests
Alliance chests that give gems typically happen about twice a month and these can give you over 150 gems if your alliance manages to get to the level 6 chest! These are arena chests, which means that you need to win arena battles to get points for the chest, so they’re arguably the hardest chests to get level 6 in, but even if your alliance only manages to get level 5, that’s up to 50 extra gems twice a month! If you’re a player who is able to score well in arena alliance chests, I highly recommend finding another active level 6 alliance to get those 155 tasty gems per arena chest!
3. Dragon Rescue Codex Collections
When you spend your keys to rescue dragons in the dragon rescue, there’s a chance that the chests will drop gems on your way through. If you have lots of keys saved and want to rescue some dragons for your collection, you can see that inside the diamond chests on the epic path for example, you could get a gem drop in the chests! It’s not a super reliable way to get tons of gems all at once, but it is a good way to collect lots of extra gems over time if you do rescues frequently!
4. Ads.
If you have full dragon tv unlocked, you’ll have the option to watch ads and be able to get a guaranteed chest giving you x10, x20 or x30 gems. You’ll have to finish watching a set number of ads to get these gems, but guaranteed gems are always great. You’ll also sometimes have the daily refresh chests that give the chance to drop up to thousands of gems!
5. Wizard’s Hollow
As good as wizard’s hollow can be sometimes, it can also cost you a lot of gems if you take too many risks. Sometimes in wizard’s hollow you will get lucky and be able to open a lot of chests and get a lot of free gems inside them. If you get a decent amount of gems during a run and you haven’t run into a wizard yet, you might want to quit the run and just take the free gems and extra goodies that the hollow has given to you. Sometimes, you may even spend some gems on a revive to finish a run or to get extra resources and you might get extra lucky and get a big gem drop on the way! Just be very careful and don’t gamble too much if you want to get some nice benefits from the hollow!
Bonus method – Tasks and Surveys
I know this is a top 5, but I did also want to mention as a 6th option for anyone that has this option available to them in game that doing tasks and surveys can actually net up to THOUSANDS of gems, but unfortunately, not all players have the option to do these tasks and surveys. PC players for example do not have the option to do tasks or surveys, so this isn’t viable for them.
