Chained Echoes – How to beat the ghosts in the Purple Flame Temple

The ghosts in the Purple Flame Temple almost made me think that the game was broken. I could not figure out how to land a Physical Attack.

After fighting the ghosts multiple times I finally realized there was a pattern.

Whatever type of attack you started with, the ghosts would do a resist buff on that type of attack. And since most of my characters have physical attacks except for one they would always resist all physical attacks.

So the trick was to set everyone to defend or buff and then have Ser Victor cast a magic attack on each ghost. Then the ghosts would cast a magic resist and my physical attacks were successful.
