Double boss fights can lead to some of the most iconic moments in gaming- when done correctly. But there are many factors that need to be considered, such as how to coordinate attacks, whether they’ll share a health bar, and what happens when one of the bosses dies. In this video, I’ll share my journey to design a double boss battle and the many decisions that were involved.

Even Heroes Die is an action platforming roguelite with elements from the Metroidvania and Zelda genres. The hero has been afflicted with a deadly curse, and you must scour the ever-changing kingdom for a cure before his time runs out.
