Originally, the crew wanted to make Klaus be Francois, and he was going to be French. It was only after Bradley Baker auditioned for the part that he told the producers that his French accent wasn’t that good. He read the lines with a German accent instead, and the producers liked it so much that they changed the character to Klaus. Originally, Steve was going to be even more geeky and gaudy than he is, and he was going to be voiced by Ricky Blitt. When the voice actor changed to Scott Grimes, his design was changed so that he wouldn’t be so similar to Neil Goldman from Family Guy.
