Do Tierlists Really Matter?

Hey guys, it’s Tomato here (or Mato for short). This time I wanted to give my thoughts on competitive tierlists. A lot of us look towards GM1 and Top 500 players to gain insight on what’s good, and while they are a good source of information, they don’t always know what’s best. There are up and coming players that may shift their entire world view and create new metas. I’ve seen it happen in a ton of other games. Mostly MOBAs, but this game has a similar structure in a way. There’s so many details in these games that can go unnoticed and no single player can account for it all. I tried to tell a little story about Genji and Brig back in season one to get my point across. Brig had been changed a ton temporarily in anticipation of a rework, and people thought she wasn’t good.
