Mega Altaria returns to Mega Raid in Winter Season.

Mega Altaria is a Dragon/Fairy type Pokemon, it is weak against Poison/Fairy/Steel/Ice type moves. As a raid boss, Mega Altaria has 187 attack and 184 defense. As a raid boss, Mega Altaria learns Peck/Dragon Breath as fast moves and Dazzling Gleam/Sky Attack/Dragon Pulse as charged moves. While Mega Altaria does not hit as hard as Mega Gardevoir, it still have comparable defense stats with Mega Gardevoir. With its relatively high defense stats, a full team of mostly maxed Shadow Metagross is the only realistic way to defeat Mega Altaria as a Solo Raid without weatherboost.

Considering weatherboost, Cloudy weather and Snow weather boost 2 of the 4 types that hit Mega Altaria super effectively respectively, where both of these weather allow Mega Altaria to be solo raided with more diverse options.

In cloudy weather, Mega Gardevoir, Mega Gengar, Nihilego and Shadow Gardevoir can now also team up and fight against Mega Altaria as Solo Raid. While in Snow weather, Metagross, Shadow Mamoswine, Shadow Excadrill, Shadow Mewtwo and Shadow Weavile can also outrace the timer against Mega Altaria as Solo Raid.

For this challenge, Shadow Metagross team which was deployed against Mega Gardevoir was reused. Since Mega Altaria is weaker than Mega Gardevoir, this very same team found Mega Altaria does not particularly pose any trouble against them. Usually, Dragon Pulse/Sky Attack was preferred for its underwhelming stats. However, for this team, they can even take down Mega Altaria with Dazzling Gleam, which is its strongest move.

Overall, the main difficulty for Mega Altaria Solo Raid lies on team building again. Especially if one would try to defeat Mega Altaria in Cloudy weather, they would need a lot high levels Shadow or Legendary Pokemons.

CP 4286 Shadow Metagross – Lv50 15/15/15 Bullet Punch/Meteor Mash
