In this series I will be providing a tutorial on one way that you can start your fortress and begin being successful using the masterwork mod. Please remember that there are tons of ways to play this game and if you disagree with something I said, then that’s great! I love talking about this game and would love to hear from you about it. And for the newbies feel free to diverge from the advice in these videos, chances are you will be fine. And if not remember the Dwarf Fortress motto: /”Losing is fun/”

Dwarf Fortress is a fantasy game where you control a bunch of temperamental subterranean bearded jerks (aka dwarves) as they dig out or build up their home in a hostile land. You must choose which dwarf does what job in an attempt to provide enough food, shelter and more importantly booze to your dwarves. Along the way your fortress will attract the attention of numerous undesirable nasties that seek to steal what you own, destroy what you have built, or maybe they simply hunger for the warm running through the veins of your citizens. Fend them off for as long as possible as the only certain in dwarf fortress…. is death!

The masterwork mod adds a lot of content to dwarf fortress. There are new workshops and furnaces for the dwarves along with a whole new magic and politics system. And if your getting tired of playing the dwarves there a numerous other races for you to try.
