In this video I break down the unit types in Fire Emblem Engage. Their overall uses, how they are different from other units, pros/cons of them, use cases, and some basic tactics you can use on them.

NOTES:

DRAGON TYPE:
Gain extra effects from engage skills/attacks
Have access to exclusive extra emblem abilities.
Very few of these, gambit/big play oriented

Cavalry:
High mobility
great for attacking positions and setting up traps

Mystical:
Targets res
avoids AVO terrain bonuses
Distance does not reduce accuracy

Qi Adept:
Protect allies with chain guard
Chain guard works once on one ally as long as the Qi Adept is at full HP
any of these guarded allies getting hit causes chain guard unit to lose 20% hp

BACKUP UNITS:
Backup units can add low damage chip attacks when in range of an ally.
These attacks typically deal 4-6 damage with an 80% chance to hit.
This damage IGNORES all defensive bonuses

ARMORED UNITS:
Armored units do NOT BREAK when attacked at by their weapon triangle counter
They have high HP and low speed, they can tank most physical but are weak to magic
and have lower mobility than most unit types

FLYING:
Flying units ignore terrain effects and can fly over most terrain other units cannot traverse.
Some terrain including buildings, high pillars, walls cannot be passed by any unit however.
Flyers are vulnerable to bows

COVERT UNITS
Gain twice the avoid rate from avoid terrain.
They excel in regions with a lot of avoid tiles
