Final Fantasy XI: Ambuscade Guide – Troll Ambuscade: Very Difficult (Oct. 2023)

Hello! Today we have a little bit different of a guide. . . an Ambuscade guide! I’ve been doing this a lot already this update with consistent success and thought I’d share how I do it.

PLD WAR COR COR BRD WHM. Chaos/Sam/Gallant/Tactician Roll – 2x March/2x Minuet.

Dispel the auras as they appear. Use Physical AoE WS to dispel when the RNG mobs gain their aura; use Magical AoE WS to dispel when the PLD mobs gain their aura. I use Circle Blade on PLD and Aeolian Edge on one COR while the other players focus first on the Dahhak and then on the Mega Boss. Silence the Dahhak on pull to prevent use of Null Song (full dispel move and damage based on number of buffs) kill it first. The main reason is it can use Body Slam which will get you killed if it happens right after Head Seize (Head Seize sets the target’s HP to 1! PLD can block all hits and is safe except for Body Slam). After the Dahhak dies, kill the Bruiser. Once he is dead, the auras stop and you can mop up the adds. Have fun!
