If you want to grind up your weapon skill levels quickly with a single character, follow these steps:
1. Equip your character with the rusted version of whatever weapon you want to skill up in. (e.g. Rusted Sword, rusted axe)
2. Select a mission with lots of TREE TILES.
3. In the mission, position your chosen character in a forest tile that’s surrounded by forest tiles, this way the enemy will miss you constantly, but you’ll ALSO miss your attacks.
4. Even if you miss all your attacks, you still gain weapon skill experience, so as long as enemies are attacking you, you’ll get weapon experience. Battles can go on for a MAX of 100 TURNS, so you’ve got plenty of time to earn weapon experience.
5. If playing on HARD, it’s a good idea to bring an adjutant healing with your chosen character and at least 1 other unit to soften up your enemy. On HARD you have to win the battle to earn the experience, whereas on NORMAL you’ll keep any earned experience from the battle even if you lose or forfeit.
