When you are attacking a enemy tile and see the enemy coming to attack you on the same tile you have the ability to send the person back to their base if you make it to the tile first. What you do is as heading towards the tile watch the time until impact. If you see you will make it first no problem dont worry, if not choose a different tile or use a flag. Once you get to the tile that you are heading to look at the buttons you can press in the bottom left corner (see pictures for visual example) as soon as you see the double arrow speed up symbol turn into the return symbol hit it as soon as you can. Once you hit it a retreat message will come up as shown in the 3rd picture. Click confirm as fast as possible. Note that all this needs to be done before the attacking animation is done. See picture 4 for an example of the animation, if you do not do it before the animation is done it will not work. What will happen is as the person lands on the tile you just took it will deregister the tile for them and sends them back to the nearest fort. You would of already left the tile because of the return button so you can then choose to keep going and taking more land. This method is very efficient against higher sov players because it wastes a lot of their time and most of the time frustrates them and forces them to start using flags. If you see someone do this make sure instead of just choosing a 2nd piece of land to attack you garrison one of your lands first. If you attack a land then switch to attack another you are forced to attack that second land because you are locked in. So if they are using flags and you are not they will kill you. If you choose to garrison your land first THEN go to attack a different land it resets the lock so you are able to keep moving without being locked in to attacking one specific tile. Further wasting the person flags and upsetting them (speaking from experience lol.)
