(Update – It seems Swordfall took a pretty huge nerf in the newer DoM patch, where the Celestial Power proc of /”Cold Steel/” has been completely removed. This means that a massive -rr of -36% cold damage plus the -46% total speed of enemies has been taken away. I will say however, that as long as the items remain as they do, which allow us to get our cdr to 100%, the nerfs to damage and -rr removal etc essentially only slow down our clearing speed in the end. The build is still as immortal as before.)

Here is my cold swordfall 100% cooldown reduction build I’ve wanted to make for a while. Without a doubt the most op (and fun) build I’ve played to date. 100% cooldown reduction is broken you say? Yes, yes it is. And it is amazing. You don’t need any affixed items whatsoever, but if you manage to roll some nice affixes through the vendors, as I’ve demonstrated, you can make the build even more op. Build demo at the end of the video.

Base items for the build:
– Frozen Sky (ring) – bought at the NCFF blacksmith (cost: 6 legendary tokens)
– Mythical Majesty of Arcane Mystery (ring) – bought at the NCFF blacksmith (cost: 6 legendary tokens)
– Mythical Vaisravana (amulet) – bought at the NCFF blacksmith (cost: 6 legendary tokens)
– Mythical Bodhi Crown (helm) – bought at the NCFF blacksmith (cost: 6 legendary tokens)
– Kerlei’s Point (weapon) – bought at the Diablo 3 Legendary blacksmith (cost: 6 legendary tokens)
– Cataclysmic Icewall (shield) – rolled for at the Cataclysm blacksmith (each roll costs 1 legendary token)
– Mythical Shoulderguard of Weald Wolf (shoulders) – bought at the NCFF blacksmith (cost: 6 legendary tokens)
– Mytical Chilling Grip of Hagarrad (hands) – bought at the Grim Dawn Legendary blacksmith (cost: 6 legendary tokens)
– Funk Threads (feet) – bought at the Diablo 2 Legendary blacksmith (cost: 6 legendary tokens)
– Mythical Mark of Consciousness (medal) – bought at the NCFF blacksmith (cost: 6 legendary tokens)
– Mythical Frozen Dream (belt) – bought at the NCFF blacksmith (cost: 6 legendary tokens)
– Frostwyrm Incisor [Mythical Relic] – bought at the Cataclysm blacksmith (cost: Frostwyrm Incisor [Transendent Relic] which you will have to get by first buying the Empowered version of the relic, Crystallized Ice/Volatile Ice augments, which are both acquired from the Cataclysm Merchant [simply re-summon the merchant until he stocks the augments], Black Tallow, Aether Crystal, Mutated Scales (all of which you more than likely already have from playing the game up until this point.)
Stonehide Bysmiel-Sect Legguards (pants) [double rare] – these will not be easy to acquire compared to the rest of the gear, but you can substitute them for a more realistic option (and frankly, not a bad option at all) such as; Mythical Oborozukiyo which can be bought from the NCFF blacksmith for 6 legendary tokens. These pants, should you try to roll them for affixes if you have enough legendary tokens, may outperform the Bysmiel-Sect Legguards – Adding 2 to Swordfall while losing out on the 2 to Magic Weapon should not be that big of a deal. However, if you wish to grind for the Legguards, you can farm the Guardian of Bysmiel for them on high Zeke difficulty where there are Eldritch spawns.
– Chains of Honor (chest) – bought at the Diablo 2 blacksmith (cost: Murderer’s Breastplate, which you can farm for from Cronley’s Gang Murderer spawn, 1 Dol Rune, 1 Ber Rune, 1 Um Rune – all these runes may be bought from the same D2 blacksmith for other runes and components, or you may already have them collected from random drops while playing.

I forgot to mention – try and get as high a conversion from pierce to cold as you can on your gloves and, also, fire damage converted to cold on your belt – the higher, the better. The aether to ele conversion on the skill on your ring; Mythical Majesty of Arcane Mystery, will increase your dps if you manage to get an affix on your gear that adds flat aether dmg (ie; of The Arcane Blaze suffix.)
Another point to mention – physical converted to elemental damage is also increased through the skill; Archon, which you’ll constantly have applied to your character – However, it is not at all necessary to have phys – cold/elemental conversion for the build, as your skill; Signet of Metal is converting over 50% of phys to pierce already. So, if do you need to put an Ist rune into your weapon should your CDR rolls not be that good, there really is no need to worry. You won’t be missing out on that phys – cold conversion from the component; Seal of the Night.

Regarding the component in the boots; Boon of the Trapped – you don’t need it. The skill; Archon, which we have 100% uptime on (if we don’t fall asleep) adds more than enough to our resistances – Put in Mark of Mogdrogen instead.

Hope you get as much fun out of this build as I do! Thanks for watching.
