My name is Ellen and I create step-by-step guitar tutorials here on my channel, #for3v3rfaithful Welcome to the very first episode of my brand new beginner series, where I’ll have you playing your first song in just 10 minutes!

Through the years, many people have told me on their first day of guitar lessons, /”I just want to play a song/” – so that’s what this video is for! This series is intended to teach you the basics of guitar by PLAYING ACTUAL SONGS in each video! Of course, you’ll still learn the foundational stuff along the way, but it’ll be sprinkled in so you can still have fun and play your guitar while learning.

In this episode, we jump right into tuning your guitar and learning your first 2 chords, G and Cadd9 – some of the most popular chords used in today’s music! Throughout this series, we’ll dive deeper into topics like tuning your guitar, practicing chord transitions, and figuring out strumming patterns, but for this first lesson, I want you to concentrate on the fact that you CAN play something just minutes after picking up your 6 string!!
