I’m Max Dalton, and in this video we’ll quickly look at how to use ambient mode in the YouTube mobile app on iPhone, iPad and Android devices. The only requirement for using ambient mode is that you have dark mode enabled in the app. I’ll link to my video in the description that will show you how to do that.
Step 1. Open the YouTube mobile app, and then open a video. Again, you must have dark mode enabled.
Step 2. Tap the video to display the on-screen menu, and then tap /”Settings./”
Step 3. Tap /”Ambient Mode./” A message is briefly displayed letting you know that ambient mode is now enabled. Going forward you’ll see colors from your video you’re watching bleed over into the area surrounding the YouTube player. Ambient mode will be turned on for all videos going forward.
