The first thing you need to do is visit Hogsmeade for the first time, which occurs after around 3 hours of gameplay if you continue following the main quest line. Once you arrive in Hogsmeade, at some point, you’ll confront and need to defeat an armoured troll. To achieve this, towards the end of the battle, you’ll receive instruction on how to use ancient magic in hogwarts legacy. On your Nintendo Switch, press the L R buttons to invoke ancient magic and defeat the enemy.
After defeating the armoured troll, you’ll notice two blue bars at the bottom right of your screen, these represent your ancient magic.
There are two primary methods to quickly build the Ancient Magic gauge. The first involves chaining spell attack combos together. Power-ups and boosts to the Ancient Magic meter activate after you successfully chain a combo of 10 hits or more among your enemies during combat.
The other option is to collect orbs that occasionally drop when an enemy has been hit with multiple attacks in succession. These orbs significantly increase your ancient magic power bar
