Consider carrying socks in your inventory.
Their encumberance is only 0.1
Compared to most other clothes that are 1.0
Socks can be ripped into two ripped sheets
And crafted into one sheet rope
Effectively saving 0.7 encuberance per sheet rope.
You can also get up to four ripped sheets from long socks.
Ripped sheets and sheet ropes, your socks are the G.O.A.T.!
