Michael Zhang built and played a Iron Defense, Body Press Kommo-o to 1st place at Sacramento Regionals. He used Tera Steel to shrug off Fairy type hits, and the Bulletproof ability to effectively wall Flutter Mane’s Ghost and Fairy STAB moves and OHKO back with Iron Head. With Leftovers and Grassy Terrain from Rillaboom, it’s difficult to KO for the predominatly physical attacking metagame of Regulation E. Tyranitar and Arcanine serve as bulky Pokemon to wittle away at opponent’s resources with Knock Off to remove items and Will-o-Wisp to weaken attackers, and a Tera Grass Miracle Seed Rillaboom to clean up any stray attackers that could threaten Kommo-o’s set-up in the back. Iron Bundle and Flutter Mane serve as an offensive mix-up, as well as potential answers against Unaware Dondozo which would otherwise wall Kommo-o.
