Is Wizards of the Coast Bringing Back Domain Level Play?

WotC recently released /”Bastions,/” a playtest document from D&D Beyond’s Unearthed Arcana. It’s about owning a location: stronghold, home, or other property. In early editions of D&D, building a stronghold or other structure, populating it with followers, and earning income from it, was a primary goal of playing. In this video, I discuss the history of Domain Level play from D&D’s progenitor games like Braunstein and Blackmoor through the TSR era editions (such as B/X, BECMI, 1E, and 2E) and the shift that occurs in the WotC era (3E and beyond).
