Cheats:
To enable the developer console, go to the options and find the keyboard/mouse options. Enable the dev console. Once enabled, press to bring down the console.

If this method does not work try the following:
In your Steam Games list, right click Left 4 Dead 2, select /”Properties/” then /”Set Launch Options…/” In that, type: -console
The console should appear when you start the game. First thing you should do is bind it to the key (or any key of your choosing) by typing /”bind toggleconsole/”

Usually you must start a map through the console to use cheats, so type /”map [mapname]/” and enter.
