Longplay #130. Eternal Champions (1993) Special Edition 3.0 (2022). Emulator – Gens/GS r7.

Notes.

1. Used Xbox 360 controller here. Game made a hard bet on Sega Genesis 6-button one, but it doesn’t mean that something else cannot be set. About few special moves are hard to perform with such, while it require press two directionals at once, but most of the available are possible, with proper setup. HoldBk – back (hold).
X – light kick by the hand.
Y – medium kick by the hand.
A – light kick by the leg.
B – medium kick by the lag.
T – forward.
LB (Z) – hard kick by the hand.
RB (C) – hard kick by the lag.
U – up.
D – down.

Some useful combinations for Shadow:

2.1. XYLB – hide in the fog. Then press XYAB to perform a kick. Four buttons at once to be sure it will work, well, in one way or another.
2.2. Hold /”back/” for a while (2-3 seconds), then press /”forward/” and X at once – slow shuriken, same with Y – fast shuriken.
2.3. Press /”down/” B – bottom somersault attack.
2.4. Hold /”back/” for a while (2-3 seconds), then press /”forward/” and RB at once – regular somersault attack. You can add a finishing move on top at the end, X for example.
2.5. Press /”down/” A B at once – long cutting. Press /”down/” X B at once – short cutting.
2.6. Down RB – leg-split.

4. At the location with the volcano there is a small chance of freezes. Use saves. If the fight is lost, you will need to go through one or more fights again before you can fight the same opponent again.

5. While final boss deals regular damage, he has five stages and some powerful abilities.

6. There is Sega CD version exist is well, which can be count as a sequel, it seems. While it’s looks and plays more / less similar, It contain more fighters to pick, CD-Audio and video inserts. By other hand the moves palette been changed, same as style of the heroes and some other things might be count as controversal, so personally I’m prefer this version.
