Additionally, you may consider Core Shielding if you want to get Celestial Lance or Dying Star which are viable for this build but will hurt your ability to Strafe around at high speeds.
The only guide one really needs in regards to what mods we need for this build is: Does it increase thrust power? If, yes – take it. If, no – leave it.
That said this is the list of all mods affecting thrust power in a positive way:
– Shield Effect Radius & Focused Shields( Shield Effect Power)
– AMP shield (% total thurst)
– Improved Thrusters & Streamline (% thurst)
– Strafe (% thurst)
– Warpath (% thrust)
– Bravado ( to base thurst)
– Channeling ( Shield Effect Power)
– Tempest Break ( Shield Effect Power)
– Hidden Power ( Shield Effect Power, % thurst)
– Ataraxia (% total thurst)
– Energized Shields ( Shield Effect Power)
– Galvanic Outburst ( Shield Effect Power)
– Rampage – reduces the time needed to accelerate to max speed but does not add any extra thrust power. Its own power is affected by your thrust power.
As you can see half of these mods increase shield effect power rather than directly improving the thrust power. That means an AMP shield is required.
The highest base thrust body gears are:
Firefly – 140, Courser – 140, Hullbreaker – 130, however, Firefly is the only suitable one for this build.
I’ve been trying to do this kind of build for a while now but never really made it viable until an update in the most recent Syzygy update:
/”Firefly thruster size now also scales with sources of /”total/” thrust, such as Amp and Ataraxia/”. That essentially means that late-game Firefly thrusters easily cover a 3rd of the screen.

01:41 – Rapid Fire to help support the early game and to unlock Leaf on the Wind later.
03:09 – Chaotic Ambition Revelation combo is good for this run because you can’t use Grandeur due to the -thrust…sucks, I know.
04:26 – This is why I prefer Salvo for builds that do NOT focus on the weapon.
