On October 25, 3309, in the Shamash system, Garrett Orbital sent out a distress broadcast which was picked up by the Pilot’s Federation, who had no idea what to do about it and sent it to all CMDR’s inboxes. Upon investigating, multiple comms beacons were easily found and contain either distorted audio or unusual /”automated/” alert broadcasts. Because of the distressing nature found within the audio, it is heavily reminescent of the Generation Ship Thetis, who suffered a catastrophic breakdown of its crew due to an embedded signal emitting into their internal comms from an unknown star system 15Ly from its final destination, Nefertem 6 A. What a coincidence that Shamash is exactly 15.45Ly from there.
