Can Basil be used outside of Boss Rush?
No, the game fully prevents you from leaving with him in your party. Explanation being that the Boss Rush is only holograms so no real harm will come to Basil which is why he joins you in the first place. After completing a run with Basil, you won’t be able to use him again, so have a save before entering if you’d like to replay that portion with him.
Does Basil have different skills?
No he doesn’t, however he has a move that changes based on what charm he is wearing. Giving him the Flower Crown charm gave him the move Flower Crown which is what I used here.
How do I play the Hikkikomori / Alt Route? How do I get to the Boss Rush?
I’m sure there are better videos explaining it than I can, but after defeating Space Boyfriend you”ll eventually get to the portion of the game where you are playing as Sunny (or whatever you named your character) and it’s the morning, there’ll be knocking on the door and Kel will be there, do not open the door and instead go back to sleep. After that you’ll be thrusted in the alternate route which is where you’ll find the new content. (If this is your first time playing I’d HIGHLY recommend you play through the normal route first and save the alternate route as a separate playthrough by saving the game before interacting with the door, then again if this is your first time playing OMORI what are you doing here?) The Boss Rush is part of the post game content of the alternate route.

Will this update come to PC?
I’m not sure, there’s reason to believe that it won’t but Omocat hasn’t outright denied that it will.
