Pokémon Korosu Any% Speedrun in 3:22:40 RTA (Current World Record)

Finally got around to rerouting this hack after over a year since my last run. Not as huge improvement as I’d like, but there was a lot of nonsense in this run (hit an extra trainer that wasn’t a spinner, ran out of balls, tons of Thunder misses).

This route is super duper safe which loses some time – I fight a few extra trainers in Sevii Islands (some are necessary to outspeed Latios) as well as in Kanto (to obtain a couple extra Candies). This allows me to enter the Pokemon League at L74, whereas in previous runs, I would finish the run close to that level. Depending on Special Attack and Speed IVs, less trainers could be fought but that’s quite a bit riskier.

It’s also very hard to get a good main (Gastly) – some Natures are no good and Special Attack/Speed need to be really good in general. 31 attempts with only 2 completed runs, most of the 29 resets were at the beginning on stats alone. So quite a grindy speedrun to do, though once it gets going, it’s not too bad.
