I recommend to complete this request later in the game once you unlock the Coronet Highlands area. You should also complete Request 65 /”Setting up the Mountain Camp/” so you will have this camp location available for faster Cherrim checks. You can technically get Cherrim in The Heartwood area of Obsidian Fieldlands but it is incredibly rare there and will eat up a lot of time doing it that way.
The Mountain Camp is right next to the Lonely Spring area which is the area where Cherrim spawns most frequently. This is due to the number of shaking trees with berries in this relatively small area. Another advantage of this area is that the shaking trees will only spawn Cherrim and Cherubi.
Make sure you catch Cherrim during the daylight hours to double up on your research credit for each catch. You can also defeat a Cherrim for Pokedex research. You can also get a high level Cherrim that knows Petal Dance and complete the research that way.
The reward for this request is only 5 Vivichokes which is admittedly a terrible reward for the amount of work you likely had to do to complete the request.
