Today I am doing a tips and tricks video on the newly released Prison Simulator, where you play the role of a prison guard and deal with dangerous convicts.
Tip 1 – Skills
You gain access to skills after day 2 in the game and speaking with Alexander Davis in the guards room. You initially get 1 skill point for free and then 1 additional skill point per level so when you first get access you can choose 3 skills. Each skill will cost you money and 1 skill point to purchase.
Active skills either increase or add a new action
Passive skills increase stats like health, movement speed, defence, stamina etc
The first 3 skills I normally go for are all Active skills: Searching and Intimidating, Eagle Eye and Trust
Tip 2 – Stats
Stamina is increased by using the workbench in the prison yard.
At the end of the day before you go talk to the officer in the briefing room, this is a great time to go and grind out some weights for stamina. Go to the prison yard and grind out as many sets as you can.
Speed is increased by delivering parcels to prison officers within a time limit. This becomes available to you after your first prison intake daily mission and you need to speak to the prison officer through the door in the search waiting room. Once the event is triggered there will be green markers that lead you to the officers.
Both Defense and Strength is increased by fighting prisoners in the prison yard. Not just any random prisoner but one marked with fists in the basketball court. As you increase in level you then have to fight more prisoners to increase the skill. As you can see here, I would have to fight 4 prisoners and win to gain another defence or strength stat.
Tip 3 – Boost Prison Income Quickly
Once you get to speak to the warden, he will give you access to the computer – this is when you can start this tactic.
The best way to boost your prison income is to save up the first 500 of prison money and buy either a golden sink or golden toilet. You can access these by clicking on either toilet/sink and then clicking on the skins button.
By purchasing the gold versions for 500 each, you will get an immediate 15% boost to prisoner respect which gives you a huge boost up the prison rankings.
Then save your next 500 and buy the other one that you didnt buy first (this should only take a day or 2). This will increase your prisoner respect by a total of 30% – which will be a big boost in income which will allow you to purchase other items quicker.
Tip 4 – Prisoner Follow
When you have a prisoner follow you (like in the workshop mission for example), once they are following you, you can just go straight to the location where you need to go. For some reason the prisoners dont try to run/escape and just follow you with no hassles to that location. So to save time and effort, just set to follow and then go to your location
Tip 5 – Sell Sell Sell
There are 2 types of money in the game – Prison money (which we talked about in Tip 3) and personal money.
If you followed the advice from tip 1 and got the initial skill Trust, then that means you can start trading with prisoners. The prisoners will be marked with a dollar sign above their head.
If you confiscate as many items as you can, then you can continually sell and make plenty of money. Each prisoner has a set amount of money.. per day. So come back every day to maximise your profits.
A tactic I have been using is to come through to cell block B every day and search through the cells and confiscate items and then sell back to the prisoners.
To start with this will take a bit of time as you have to search through every part of the cell to find items.
There are 7 initial locations
2 in the sink
2 in the toilet
3 in the bed
Another good skill to get is Negotiator Lvl 2. This allows for an increase of 75% to bribes.
How I use this one is when you are about to confiscate and item and the prisoner requests to keep the item, push your bribe up to 100 and if he accepts you win. Most items are worth less than 100 so you just maximised your profits on that item.
