– Red Dead Redemption on Switch is a remastered port of the original version. The biggest draw of this version is the improved resolution and greater stability over the PS3/360 version.
– PS5 runs the PS4 version via backward compatibility. Xbox Series S/X runs the Xbox 360 version via enhanced backward compatibility.
– PS5 inherits the PS4 Pro enhancements, achieving a maximum resolution of 2160p. Xbox Series X is able to handle the same resolution thanks to enhanced backward compatibility.
– Because PS5 uses a more updated version, we can see some improvements over the Xbox version, such as higher filtering and shadow resolution or lower loading times.
– The Playstation version also includes the possibility to enable AMD FSR.
– All versions remain locked at 30fps.
– Switch’s Handheld mode decreases rendering resolution, shadows and anisotropic filtering.
– In any case, the differences between versions are minimal. It has merit the great job Microsoft did with the improved backward compatibility.
