I played all the Valkyrie Profile games – been covering them since the summer, but I’m repackaging like with Persona and Dark Souls because some people like waiting for the longer version. And let’s be real, YouTube cares more about raw watch time than like, carefully crafted work, so here’s the weekend-watch version.
This was the most interesting set of varied rpgs I’ve played in a long time. I wanted to do Valkyrie Profile to capture the Dept. Heaven vibe in a new era of the channel, but I don’t think I really scratched it – maybe with the first vid, but you can tell I petered out eventually. I think knowing that sequel after sequel incurs diminishing returns does that. And anyways, those Dept Heaven vids were from a much less considered time in my /”career./” Funny but terrifying LMAO
I included a reflection segment at the end to briefly mention Anatomia and reception to the videos in general. Overall they were received about as well as you’d expect – not much controversy except where I stirred the pot, but I wanted to talk about why I handled VP that way specifically.
