Margaret is the virtuous and melodious elf who musically entertains guests at the restaurant run by her deluxe parental figure, Porcoline De Sainte-Coquille. She delivers sweet and elegant songs by voice and elvish harp with the same high caliber of passion as when chasing down insouciant litterers of her beautiful town for justice.
“Rune Factory 4” is the sixth entry of the Rune Factory series developed by Neverland Co. and published by Marvelous AQL for the Nintendo 3DS in 2012. An enhanced port of the game for the Nintendo Switch, “Rune Factory 4 Special,” released in 2019 with new features including Newlywed Mode, Another Episode, and Hell difficulty. Since its debut in 2006, the Rune Factory series has introduced a total of six titles as of 2019, to be seven with the anticipated release of “Rune Factory 5” for the Nintendo Switch in 2021.
Rune Factory is a series of fantasy adventure role-playing video games that feature elements of farming, dungeons, romance, crafting, and more. In /”Rune Factory 4,” the protagonist rides an airship to the Norad Kingdom’s town of Selphia with an important gift to deliver to the town’s resident God. Upon sudden assault by Sechs Empire soldiers hiding aboard, the protagonist incurs an amnesia-inducing blow to the head and falls from the airship onto the very horns of whom they initially seeked—Selphia’s God and Native Dragon of Wind, Ventuswill. Assuming the protagonist to be the Norad prince whose company she has soon been expecting, Ventuswill makes orders to arrange for the protagonist to reside in Selphia and carry out their duties as a noble. Doubtful but with no better option to entertain until their memories return, the protagonist agrees to serve as Selphia’s representative prince/princess. Not long after becoming acquainted to the gentle town and its nostalgic fields, the protagonist and Ventuswill are met with the arrival of the true Norad prince, Arthur, which inspires a flighty panic due to the evident handful of misunderstandings. After a discussion of logistics, Arthur willingly renounces his princely roles to the protagonist, who then resumes a lively lifestyle that kindly tends both crops and Selphia’s people. Later, while exploring a forest on the outskirts of town, the protagonist encounters an unusual monster that transforms into a human girl upon defeat, which unexpectedly becomes the first in a series of events that are mysteriously connected to the decline in the land’s runes, as well as the health of Ventuswill, who appears knowledgeable but remains reticent on the subject. As the protagonist ventures further into the territories between Selphia and the Sechs Empire, they quickly find themselves engaged in an emotional adventure entwined in the meaning of sacrifice and the importance of memories, all while learning and confirming the beauty that is a world with everything in its right place.
