Rygar is an extremely ambitious early Metroidvania game for the NES! It mixes side scrolling platforming with top down exploration, and it works really well! Blaster Master would perfect this formula about a year later, but Rygar was doing it first.

Listen for a clicking sound before crossing the gap to ensure you are connected to the rope.
