Episode 118

Most games on the Super Nintendo were bright and cheerful, so a dark and gritty game like Shadowrun stands out amongst the other titles on the system. After waking up with amnesia, you’ll fight for your very survival as you unravel the mystery of who you are, and why everyone wants you dead.

Shadowrun has a unique setting – At first it seems like any other futuristic dystopia, but this world blends high fantasy with the technological. Mages wield magic spells, people transform into orcs or trolls, and mythical creatures like dragons are part of everyday life.

Before it was a video game, Shadowrun was a table-top RPG, sort of like Dungeons & Dragons. The video game is more of an action RPG, but you’ll still level up your character, buy new weapons and armor, and learn new useful skills. You can also hire up to three additional AI controlled party members!

The game features point-and-click adventure elements, including a deep dialog system that will allow you to have meaningful conversations with the game’s NPCs – Very advanced for a game from 1993!

So how did this game get made, and what’s up with that other Shadowrun game on the Sega Genesis? In today’s episode we’ll find out, and then we’ll dive deep into the gameplay where we’ll learn:

* The best way to LEVEL UP your character with Karma points!

* How to escape the CAR YARDS without grinding levels!

* Where to find EVERY WEAPON and suit of ARMOR, even the Zip-Gun!

* How to access the HIDDEN DEBUG ROOM!

* The secret trick to DUPLICATE ITEMS!

* How to get ALL of the MAGIC SPELLS!

* Where to find EVERY ITEM and Data File!

* Easy ways to HACK COMPUTERS and survive in the Matrix!

* Secret tricks to GAIN KARMA FAST!

* Data for the OTHER SHADOWRUNNERS – Learn which ones to hire!

* Detailed MAPS for every area!

* How to remove the CORTEX BOMB!

* Where to find a secret item that MAKES YOU INVINCIBLE!
