I’m also using the Categorized Favorites Menu mod (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/4862/?). It can take a while of changing values in the .cfg file to get it to look right. So you could just try my setup first below, to see if it works for you.

If you want to just use my settings for this mod download these files: http://db.tt/NDMAbhTV and drop them into your Skyrim//Data//Interface folder. I can’t guarantee it will look the same as my settings are for 1920×1080 display.
