Stellaris – How to create a Pre-sapient Species via Console Commands

If you can’t find a Pre-sapient species to uplift you can create one on a specific planet via Console Commands. This specific command will trigger a part of an event called “Wild Eukaryotes” which will automatically add a Pre-sapient species to the selected planet.

Open the Console and type “event distar.260” (without the “” of course) and add new friends to your Empire.

This proved particularly useful in 2.3.2 since apparently there was a bug preventing Pre-sapient species from being created. The bug is reported to have been fixed in 2.3.3 but if RNG doesn’t give you a Pre-sapient species within your borders, now you know how to create one.

However there are a couple of things you need to consider.

The species will always have the Climate Preference Trait of the planet they spawned on and the Docile Livestock Trait. Docile Livestock is actually a sought after trait for many pops who are going to employed as “workforce”.

The drawback of this method is for some reason I never had uplift event triggering since I created the species. It may be because I was playing in game started before 2.3.3 or it may be a result of the way I generated the species. I can’t tell until I start a different game and so I wanted to inform you.

The name of the Ring World section shown in the video is a tribute to the planet Virmire from Mass Effect.
