This Relic’s Triumph Effect provides a 20% Ships Weapon Damage and a 25% Militaristic Ethic Attraction for 10 years while the passive effect comes in the form of a permanent -20% Influence cost.
The Khan’s Throne is rewarded to the Empire responsible for the finale destruction of the Great Khan during the Marauder Horde mid game event.
Once you reach mid game there is a chance the various Marauder clans will unite under a leader who will start a campaign of conquests across the galaxy.
If you manage to get credit for killing the Great Khan in battle you will receive the Khan’s Throne relic shortly after.
The first time the Great Khan is defeated in a battle they will flee and start rebuilding their fleet. If the Khan is defeated in any subsequent battle they will perish. The Empire that is credit for the destruction of the Khan’s flagship is rewarded with the Relic, so you don’t need to defat the Khan’s fleet both times yourself but you must be the one who destroy the last time.
One of the Marauder Horde outcomes is the death of the Great Khan by assassination or disease. In such event the relic won’t be rewarded. The best way to assure the acquisition of the Khan’s Throne is to quickly defeat the Khan’s fleet. If you have a strong fleet and attack with swiftness you can put an end to the rampaging horde before its gains more ships…or before some other Empire grabs the relic for themselves.
