The BEST TROUT STREAM in the US is a SECRET to most – no crowds, big fish, numbers & all public! p27

I’m fly fishing what many consider the best trout stream in the United States in part 27 of the 2 month camping road trip. IMO, what makes this stream the best trout stream in the US…it’s truly a wild, free flowing stream…exactly like it was hundreds of years ago. When you fish these streams you’re stepping back in time, fishing for native trout in native water, much like our ancestors did! Take tailwaters for example, some would argue are better trout fisheries bc of the incredible fish size and numbers. But in most cases these were created by destroying a system to create a trout fishery. The world famous White River was once a warm water river home to all kinds of aquatic life which were destroyed to create a fantastic trout stream. So it’s TRULY A SPECIAL gift to catch native trout from native ranges in wild, free flowing public water…nothing was destroyed… the same aquatic insects and inhabitants are still the same ones that have lived here since the beginning! It’s home to big NATIVE westslopes, heard it had bulls too, holes full of fish, all styles work and it’s a secret to most! Add on that any technique will work…I caught fish on nymphs, dries and streamers and it’s not hard argue why many consider it the BEST TROUT STREAM in the US! It has become one of the best streams I have ever fished…truly a special place. That last hole was stacked with cutthroat!
