The Ninth Generation Retrospective – Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion

Crisis Core Reunion is yet another remaster, first released at the tail end of 2022. The game brings the beloved PSP game to modern platforms with updated visuals along with numerous other upgrades. It’s too bad that the game ultimately can’t escape its handheld origins and shows its age with outdated combat mechanics and a story whose quality is set so below the bar that it’s embarrassing even for Square Enix standards. This is a release that only die hard fans will enjoy while everyone else with a modicum of common sense will revel in the absurdity of this remaster that’s still stuck in 2007.
