Greetings, everybody.

Today I’m just uploading a full playthrough of the demo for Tormented Souls, an upcoming Survival/Psychological Horror game developed by Dual Effect & Astral Digital, and published by PQube Limited, check out the steam page here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1367590/Tormented_Souls/

This game is clearly taking inspiration from Resident Evil, Silent Hill and even Alone in the Dark, among others, one can see that just by checking the official material, or just playing this demo.

It is rare for me to upload just plain gameplay but sometimes that can be enjoyable, and I like survival horror and think we don’t have enough of these games but, we’re getting there with the good results the newest Resident Evil games have gotten, so the old school survival horror genre seems to be making a decent comeback.

I also thought of making this upload a /”mini guide/” of sorts, since it has a couple puzzles here and there, one being a tiny bit confusing, maybe, so yeah, whatever, there it is.

Here are some timestamps:

00:00 – Intro
05:14 – Padlock combination puzzle
18:47 – Generator Room & puzzle
22:23 – Maternity Ward & /”secret door/” (lamp switch)
29:10 – Dentist room (location of dial missing from Incomplete Key)
31:24 – Pharmacy Door Puzzle & explanation

I’ve been looking for games like this in the past few days and saw this one had a demo, so that’s all there is to it, I have no affiliation with the game or devs, just a regular person doing a simple playthrough, I saw the game looked cool, and thought “why not”, since it also has a couple puzzles here and there, and I hate to admit one of them took me a while figure out, but eventually figured it out.

The game still lacks (as per the demo at least) a bit of polish here and there, and the animations in some scenes are missing (the Father doesn’t move his mouth at all after his cutscene, haha), but for what it is, a small Survival Horror game, which we don’t normally have many of these in this type of vein with this specific usage of the camera (which I liked a lot, the camera is not completely fixed, it’s quite dynamic)…well I thought it was a cool demo.

You will notice that I play using Tank Controls here, that’s done by using the d-pad on the controller, but the game also offers a more modern control mode when using the left stick, so those who don’t like tank controls can still enjoy the more modern scheme.

Keyboard controls aren’t that great for now, in the demo at least, and keys cannot be remapped for now, but I expect them to add that for release.

Hopefully the final version of the game is even better, I believe it’s coming out soon, like this month or the next, so yeah quite soon in any case, normally these smaller games don’t get a lot of marketing so I think it’s important to share as much as we can if we like them, and having a demo…well why not?

I hope this can be useful to any of you, and I’ll see you next time : )
