Cheat Engine scans not finding your game values??

Chances are, you’re scanning for the wrong value type!

Welcome to Game Hacking 103, the third video in the GHS Hacking Series!

In this video, we take our first look at how to use Cheat Engine to scan for different memory address value types.

If you don’t have Cheat Engine or if you’re brand new to Cheat Engine / Game Hacking, we recommend watching the GH100 series from the beginning – https://www.youtube.com/playlist?listPLt9cUwGw6CYHfDY-vj1AFxfWCd5r9bPd4

We’re using Final Fantasy X as an example, but what we show in the video works with MANY more games.

Keep in mind that not every game works the same, and we specifically chose FFX for this video because it’s easy to hack (we choose more difficult games later as the series progresses) so things might not work exactly the same way as you in the video if you’re trying on a different game.
For this reason, we recommend you practice either on the game shown, or you can download one of the following FREE games to practice on:
Assault Cube
Cube 2 Sauerbraten

In the video, we cover the following topics:
1. What the heck value types even are (from a game hacking perspective)!
2. How to change the default value type Cheat Engine scans for.
3. How to scan for multiple value types for a single value at the same time.
4. How to use the “memory viewer” to find closely related values quick and easy without having to do any more scanning! In the video specifically, we use this tool to find every item we have in inventory in ten seconds.
5. How to change interesting values directly from the memory viewer and/or add them to the address list for further tinkering.
6. And we explain how inventory values are sometimes tied to “slots” instead of the actual items (as is the case in Final Fantasy X).

And that’s everything this time around! We hope you enjoyed the video!

But keep in mind that not all games make it clear what the value of something you might want to hack is. Example – what about when you only have a health bar, and you can’t see a “number” for the amount of health you have?

In GH104, we cover exactly how to deal with this! And we have many more upcoming videos in the GHS Hacking Series that will walk you through exactly how to use Cheat Engine to tailor games to exactly how you want them!

So don’t forget to subscribe, hit the bell, and turn on Youtube Notifications so you don’t miss any future videos!

Thanks so much for watching! We’ll see you again real soon
