Kurgaloth must be defeated at all costs for his treachery. In this video, I run through the Lightfigner Estate, giving you tips below at how to be successful.

In general, to defeat all 3 levels of this dungeon, expect to be at minimum level 15 with some rare gear around level 9-10, epic gear around level 7-8, and some legendary items level 1 or 2. Restore is important for this boss on your tank as many enemies have the ability to stun.

Strategy
This challenge is easier than the other challenges, but the damage output of enemies needs to be addressed.

Boss Mechanics:
1) Kurgaloth’s first move will be to summon 3 ability power circles, either boosting his attack by 35% or his defense 35%.
2) If you have a hero in the front row on his next move, he will attack them. This attack has no other effect other than massive damage so no need to stack heroes.
2a) If you do not have a hero in the front row, he will summon an enemy on the first row.
3) If you do not disable all the power circles by stepping on them, Kurgaloth will continue to attack a hero in the front row or summon an enemy on the front row if no hero there.
4) If after 2 of Kurgaloth’s turns and you have disabled the power circles, then he will summon 3 more of either attack or defense.

Boss Strategy:
1) Kurgaloth is a really easy boss as you don’t have to worry about dominates, pushes, or injure effects. With this strategy, you will have predictable boss turns, and save Waterdeep.
2) On your first turn, try to get a hero to the front lines. I use Naomlen with rare goggles and Tommus with pants to have an additional action.
3) Try to pre-boss plan to have a DEF- ability ready. I use Saarvin’s rare quiver.
4) I don’t feel worrying too much about the attack power circles is a priority if you can do a lot of damage fast. I do believe you should suppress all the defense power circles. For this, you can assign pants to aid your battle: Saarvin’s legendary pants (when I get them level 3), Halbenet’s epic pants on the 2nd row are my go to.
5) If Kurgaloth goes first, you can utilize your multiple move abilities to suppress 2 power circles. If you go first, try to go to front front lines and use DEF- .
6) With Tommus’s epic sword and shield, he will provide the necessary defense buffs to absorb Kurgaloth’s massive damage. This is very important to protect Naomlen on the front row as she does the most damage but not as tanky as Tommus and she is exposed in front as Kurgaloth randomly attacks a hero.

Team tips:
1) Pre-challenge team ordering has no benefit for this challenge.
2) Restore is critical on your tank. I use Tommus’s common extra item.
3) Having a three-ranged attack hero is very powerful: I recommend either Farideh with level 13 common helmet or Saarvin with rare quiver to have the DEF- ability.
4) Naomlen will be able to do the most damage, so have stealth abilities to avoid as much damage as possible going through the dungeons.
5) Healing is important, but I feel Halbenet’s common necklace boosting attack has more benefit overall combined with his epic helmet to heal every turn. Make sure to be able to one-shot enemies or stun or have a taunt on Tommus for this to work. Most enemies will have the ability to do massive damage, so regenerate has less value for my team.
